This charger will fast charge any AAA or AA Ni-MH batteries. The charger comes with 4 AA Sony rechargeable cells. It has several safety features such as a fan to keep the cells cool. It also monitors cell temperature so it can automatically shut off if they get too hot. Voltage is also closely monitored on a cell by cell basis. It detects if you attempt to charge an alkaline cell, and will refuse to charge it.

  • Application Notes:You can charge any combination of AA and AAA Ni-MH cells at the same time. AA are charged at 7.5 Amps and will charge in 15 minutes, AAA cells are charged at a lower 2.85 Amp rate and will take 25 minutes. If the light blinks, you either have dead batteries or the wrong type. The fan and light turn on solid while charging and the fan runs a bit past the end of the charge to cool the cells.

I am really impressed with this charger. The built in fan is cool (no pun intended) becasue when it stops you know the batteries are finished charging. by JK in Oregon (yes even we Mormans like to race Mini-Zs)
