Finally AAA Lithium ion Cells are here! Use 4 of these in XMODs and Mini-Zs when you wish to use the factory battery holders.

  • Application Notes:Since these have flat ends it will require that you modify your battery holders to use them. Also you must keep the final voltage below 8.4 volts so wire these in a 2S2P configuration (see the battery Q&A for details). When you wire them this way you end up with a a 640 mAh pack which is plenty on Lithium.

  • Team AtomicMods Comments:These batteries open up some real possibilities. I just converted my Mini-Z AWD. You have to trim the holders to allow the flat battery ends to make contact with the terminals. After the conversion my AWD runs much longer than NiMH cells and of course a lot faster because of the higher voltage. I can't wait to do the same with my Mini-Z F1. I would only use these on cars that have no other option like the Mini-Z AWD or F-1. You could use these on an Evo as a cheaper solution, but the Li-Poly cells are much stronger. - Rob

I just finished converting my F1 to use these AAA Lithium batteries and they changed my car from 4.80 volts (or think in HorsePower terms) to 7.40 volts which allowed me to blow by all my buddies F1's. All I did was change the battery wiring and modify the chassis similar to the Mini-Z AWD AAA Lithium Mod described in the Tutorial. - Thanks Rob!
