Even with a 2x1 your Mini-Z will perform better, as these FETs are considerably better than the 3010 FETs found on newer Mini-Zs and are far superior to the 3004 FETs found on older ones. Most high current motors will be fine with a 2x2 stack, but some power hungry beasts are better with a 2x3. Mini-Z Monster Trucks and AWD cars require more current and benefit the most from 2x3. The higher you stack the FETs, the lower the "On Resistance" of your stack is and the more efficient it becomes at passing current, however the throttle becomes unstable at 2x4 so 2x3 is the max height for Mini-Zs of any kind. The max height on a Mini-Z F1 is 2x2, which requires trimming the rear shock brace as shown under Team Tips.
