World Champion Team AtomicMods Factory Drivers
Our Passion for Passin'
Part of what has made us successful here at AtomicMods.com is our
passion for the hobby and especially for racing. We absolutely love to race! In fact that is what drives most of the
research and development that we do. We race to hone our skills, as well
as to learn, test new and developing products, and try out new ideas. We
also make it a point to have as much fun as we can, after all this is a
hobby.

We used to practice at
Houston Indoor R/C racing here in Houston every other weekend, until we set up
the
AtomicMods Test Track facility. Since we now have our own place we
decided to start the
AtomicMods.com Racing Club - Houston which meets once a week to
race. This is a great way to hone our skills as well as learn from each
other.
I know what you are thinking, what a dream setup. A fully decked out
home track to practice in with all the bells and whistles, state of the
art cars with all the latest
and greatest upgrades and a cool boss footing the bill for it all.
Well let me tell you, being a world champion is not all fun and games.
You have to drive RC cars for hours and hours on end, wear these stiff
racing shirts and carry a really big stick to beat the babes back with.
It's a really tough job, but we are willing to make the sacrifice.

AtomicBuilt Team Edition Cars
 |
We spend a lot of time working on perfecting our setups and have
gotten very good at it. When we get one that is exceptional and has
proven itself worthy in battle, we will create a Team Edition profile
and post it in the
AtomicBuilt Cars section of the site. We go to great pains to
describe each and every aspect of what makes these cars great along with
supporting
tutorials and articles in may cases. Many people like to buy these
cars and have us build and tune them, and that is fine but since our
labor is expensive, it makes it costly for us to build them for you. We
really prefer that you use these as a guide for which parts to buy and
build your own car. This saves you money and us labor, so we can spend
more time racing. |
Team Tips

This is where we
archive the knowledge that has been passed down through the ages by the
world champion racers of Team AtomicMods via the weekly (or whenever we
feel like it) Team Tips email.

National & World Races
Below is a list of national and world races we have attended since we formed
the team. We race weekly at the
AtomicMods.com Racing Club - Houston to hone our skills for these
larger races. Its these events that really test our skill, as there is nothing
like going up against other high caliber drivers to see what you are made of.
While we won't be winning any Pulitzer Prizes, we hope you enjoy the articles.
2007 PN Racing Mini-Z World Cup
The handsome globetrotting studs from Team AtomicMods have returned from
Portugal victorious with yet another world championship title! And except for the minor
inconvenience of being constantly mobbed by all the beautiful Portuguese girls, it was
a very enjoyable race.
2007 1:18 East Coast Championships
Robert "Frank the Tank" Rocha attended the 1:18 Scale East Coast Championships in
Leominster, Massachusetts on September 14-15. He took 2nd Place in Pro Modified which
the team was excited about since it was his very first 1:18 carpet race.
2007 PN Racing Mini-Z World Cup U.S. Southern Regional
We christened our new
AtomicMods.com Test Track by hosting the 2007 PN Racing Mini-Z World Cup
U.S. Southern Regional on the weekend of August 4 and 5. Lots of spectators,
killer door prizes, and great competition resulted in a very fun event.
2007 1:18 Off-Road Carpet Nationals (Newbie Perspective)
As mentioned above, it was John's first time at an
organized race so he did a journal of sorts. John is easygoing with a great
sense of humor and his account is written from the perspective of a new racer
and is lighthearted and fun.
2007 1:18 Off-Road Carpet Nationals
John and Cristian went to Connecticut for the RC Madness 1:18 Off-Road Carpet
Nationals in Enfield on April 13-15. Primarily we were there to network with
customers, manufacturers, and other RC-types. But we were also excited about
participating in the racing. It was the first time for both of us to race 1:18
Off-Road, and John’s first time racing anything.
2006 Race For Education Columbus Indiana
We just got back from another AtomicMods Race For Education at Columbus North
High School in Columbus, Indiana. We have the story, stats and pictures posted.
2006 PN Racing Mini-Z World Cup
The first draft of the 2006 PN Racing Mini-Z World Cup Results was done while
sitting in an airport from memory. Now that we have had time to collect our
thoughts we have completed the final page with more details and even some pretty
pictures.
