General Warranty Questions


What is your warranty?
It depends on the item in question of course. But most items are warranted to be functional when you get them and not to be defective. You have 30 days to return defective items for exchange or refund.

OK, I crashed and a part broke, is this under warranty?
What planet are you from? Of course not, the parts are guaranteed to work, but not to be indestructible.

In fact, our motors and battery systems make the cars go so fast that if you crash it into a wall or something, there is a good likelihood of breaking some of the sotck plastic pieces. Your choices are:
#1 Go very, very slow and never drive over the speed limit. :)
#2 Drive is a big open area, like a roller rink, so that you never crash into anything, including another car. (Oh and don't turn so sharp that you flip the car over either.)
#3 Or our recommendation: Upgrade your stock plastic parts for billet aluminum pieces. The alimunim stuff is MUCH stronger than the plastic parts and in many cases is lighter too.


Returns


What is your returns policy?
We will accept items back for refund or exchange as long as they meet the following conditions:

Within 30 days of receipt
In it’s original condition and unused
With all its parts and documentation
In its original packaging
Can I return anything?
Everything but the following items my be returned:

I changed my mind about this AtomicBuilt car I bought, can I return it?
No. AtomicBuilt cars are built to order and like it says above, they are not returnable.

Its been longer than 30 days, what are my options?
We only offer returns within 30 days of the original purchase.

What if my special ordered item is defective?
We will exchange it for another of the same product, provided it meets the conditions listed above.

Do I need to call you about a return?
No, you simply fill out the Return Form and follow the instructions listed there.

No Questions Asked Swap


What is an NQA Swap?
That is a "No Questions Asked" Swap.

What is the "No Questions Asked" Swap program?
There are certain products that if handled incorrectly can be fried or damaged. We realize that people make mistakes so we have a program that allows certain items to be exchanged at a very deep discount should you toast something. Remeber, we love this hobby too, and over the years we have toasted a few things ourselves. :)

What items qualify for an NQA Swap?
Currently the V2 Boards, certain battery packs, and loose batteries qualify for this program. If it qualifies, there will be a NQA Swap product option on the product page.

How long from the date of my original purchase can I do an NQA Swap?
You can do an NQA Swap within 6 months of the original purchase.

I bought a battery pack from a friend for $5, can I do a No Questions Asked Swap?
Sorry, this is a service reserved for our direct customers only.

How does the NQA Swap work?
  1. Simply navigate to the product page and add the No Questions Swap option to your cart.
  2. Check out and complete payment.
  3. Print the receipt for your NQA Swap purchase.
  4. Send in the following three things: the bad item, the original purchase receipt for the bad item, and your new receipt for the NQA Swap purchase.

Note: If you do not have your original purchase receipt, you can log in to the store and under the 'Your Account' section you can view your order history and print out another receipt.

What shipping service should I use?
It is up to you, but we suggest a method that offers tracking such as UPS. If the product does not make it to us, you will not qualify for the swap.

How long does it take to get an NQA Swap completed?
We ship the replacement product out as soon as we receive the bad one, provided we have it in stock.

Will you let me know when you ship the replacement?
You will automatically receive an e-mail to the address in "Your Account" when the replacement is shipped. Alternatively, you can log in to "Your Account" and check status at any time.

Will I get a brand new product?
In the case of batteries, they are always new, although sometimes we use cells with cosmetic blemishes for swaps. In the case of the V2, we swap it with a repaired unit if we have any available and if not, we ship a new one. Don't worry though, we test every V2 board before sending it out. Kyosho Products


What is your warranty on Kyosho Products?
If you buy an item from us that is DOA (defective on arrival), we will exchange it. This is for brand new out of the box items only. If you send us a car that has clearly been driven a lot (which tells us it was not DOA) we will simply return it to you. Anything that was not DOA is handled by Kyosho directly.

I have been playing with my car for a few days and it developed a problem. Is this under warranty?
If you crashed it and broke something, you simply need to buy a replacement part. If you ran it under the couch and tried to back it out and burned the FETs you can use our FET Stacking service to get it repaired. If it is truly a product defect, you can contact Kyosho and they will take care of it for you.

How do I reach Kyosho's service department?
Call them at 800-716-4518 to get an RA#. They will provide you with shipping instructions.

How good is Kyosho's service department?
Mini-Zs are very reliable so we only have a few instances to go on, but the feedback we have gotten is that they are very courteous when dealing with customers and are turning cars around in 5-10 days.
