Stretch Out Those Contacts!

Every so often the negative battery connections on your Mini-Z collapse. This will cause erratic behavior on your car which lead many people to believe it might be static build up, a broken wire or something similar. Every 2 to 3 runs take a flat head screw driver and open up those contacts once again. This will ensure your connection is strong and more efficient. (Which everyone knows translates into more power!)

Mini-Z Formula 1 Rear Side Plate Tuning

When fine tuning your Mini-Z F1, you can adjust the amount the rear side plates travel by backing off the center screw from a half to a full turn. Adjusting the flex of these plates can result in much better handling. This tip works best with the carbon fiber plates made by Kyosho.

Mini-Z Formula 1 Bridge Trimming

If you want to run a 2x2 FET stack on your F1, all you need to do is trim the bridge that holds the board down as shown above. This will allow clearance for the outside FET stack which will hit on the bridge without modification. Learn how to do a Mini-Z FET stack here.

Don't Forget To Lube!

Don't forget to lube! It is very important that you keep your disk damper lubed at all times. Even though it can get a bit messy at times, (you should clean and re-lube after every 1 or 2 runs) putting silicone-based oils really helps the performance of your car by improving the damping effect of your damper plate system. Get different weight oils and experiment with the weight oil that best suits your driving style!

Tires Tip

If your tires are losing their grip, take a WD-40 soaked towel and clean them. WD-40 is a petroleum distillate and will actually soak into the rubber and soften the compound. Try it out!
