Article - Atomic Stock R and CHILI Motors

New in stock are the Chili and Stock R motors! Don’t let the names fool you, there’s nothing stock or gassy about these. These two new motors now available are unlike any other Mini-Z motor ever manufactured.

Features
The biggest difference you will see with these new motors is the all new re-designed end bell. They have an all-new brush system similar to what is found in larger scale motors. The new more conventional brush and spring combination shrunk down to 130 size puts out power beyond all the motors we have seen before.

Testing
Early testing in our cars and bench has yielded very impressive results. The Stock R spins at 42,000 RPMs while only drawing 1.4 amperes under load. By comparison, it is about equivalent to a PN racing Macho AWD/ Anima, in speed, but at the same time drawing about 0.7 amperes less. What does this mean? This motor is much more efficient, which translates into longer runtime, and cooler motor temperatures.

In the case of the Chili, the motor is simply put RUDE! It spins at 50,000 RPMs at 6.0 volts! That is 7,000 more RPMs than an Atomic Z2/T2!!! The motor does pull 2.3 amps under load, which is a bit higher than pretty much every other motor we’ve ever tested before, but at the same time it is also the fastest, most powerful production Mini-Z motor ever made.

Advice
If we can be of any advice, we’d say buy the Stock R for the modified racing category, especially if you are running a Rear-Wheel drive car. Reserve the Chili for VERY BIG track with an AWD car (expect people to yell at you when you run them over down the straightaway), drag racing or all out speed runs. Get yours quick because they will sell out FAST
